Vbeam Perfecta is the "Gold Standard" of care world-wide for the treatment of a wide variety of vascular and pigmented skin conditions, and can visibly erase the marks of time and nature! Gentle enough to be used on infants and powerful enough to treat most adult skin conditions.
Vbeam’s Pulsed Dye Laser delivers a gentle but intense burst of energy into the areas of skin targeted for treatment. The light is absorbed by the melanin pigmented areas or blood vessels, safely treating the many forms of discolouration and issues regarding skin texture. The technology behind this device provides a variety of pulse widths, which allows us to treat a range of spot sizes.
PDL treatments are safe for all types of skin. This technology is safe for all types of skin. It has been in use for treating young children and infant’s port wine stains since the 1980s.
Patients recline or lie down, depending on the area being treated. The laser will be calibrated and parameters set based on the specific condition being treated. Vbeam’s patented DCD™ (Dynamic Cooling Device™) provides additional protection of the skin during the treatment. It delivers a burst of cooling cryogen prior to the pulse of laser energy. The DCD enhances patient comfort during the treatment as well as minimizing redness or other potential side effects. Some patients experience a sensation of tingling or warmth during treatment, but these effects are mild and anaesthetics are generally not required.
After The Treatment
Most patients experience a feeling similar to a slight sunburn following the treatment. Some patients exhibit redness directly after treatment, which usually resolves within a few hours. Sometimes, a laser bruise, known as a purpura, may develop; this typically disappears within three to five days.
